Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
Welcome to MailMode.
By using MailMode, you agree to these Terms of Service.
Who Operates MailMode
MailMode is operated as an independent web tool. For questions about these Terms, contact [email protected].
1. Use of the Service
MailMode is an email preview and testing platform designed to help developers, marketers and teams preview email rendering across light and dark modes.
You agree to use MailMode responsibly and lawfully.
You may not:
- upload malicious code or harmful content
- attempt to disrupt the service
- abuse shareable links or infrastructure
- use MailMode for unlawful activity
- use URL loading to access content you are not authorised to access
- attempt to bypass restrictions, sanitisation, file validation or security controls
2. Uploaded Files and Local Processing
MailMode can process pasted HTML, MJML, React Email files and zipped email projects for preview and analysis.
When you paste code or upload a file for local preview, the content is processed in your browser where possible. ZIP projects are checked and unpacked in browser memory, and supported image assets may be converted to data URLs so they can appear in the preview.
Uploaded or pasted content is not stored on MailMode servers unless you choose to create a shareable preview link.
You are responsible for the content you upload, paste, fetch from a URL, preview or share using MailMode. You must have the necessary rights, permissions or authority to use that content, including email templates, MJML, React Email templates, ZIP projects, local assets and images.
3. URL Loading
If you load email source from a URL, MailMode may fetch that URL through the server so the browser can preview it. URL responses are used for the preview workflow and are not permanently stored by URL loading itself.
You should only load URLs you are authorised to access and test. URL loading is not intended as a scraping, proxying or security-testing tool.
4. Shareable Links
MailMode may generate public shareable preview links when you choose to create one.
Shareable preview links store a sanitized rendered version of your email, along with metadata such as the preview token, creation time, expiry time, selected preview settings, view count and last viewed time.
Shareable links expire after 3 days. Expired previews are intended to be automatically deleted, but deletion timing may depend on server cleanup jobs and infrastructure availability.
Anyone with the link may be able to access the preview until it expires or is removed. Please avoid creating share links for sensitive, confidential or personal information.
If a shareable link is created from a ZIP project, local image assets may be embedded into the stored rendered HTML as data URLs so the preview can display correctly.
5. Previews, Checks and Reports
MailMode previews, simulations, checks and reports are practical QA aids. They may highlight likely rendering, accessibility, tracking, dark mode or content issues, but they do not guarantee that an email is accessible, deliverable, compliant, production-ready or identical to any specific email client.
6. Availability
MailMode is provided as an evolving web tool. We aim to keep it available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent availability of every feature, or preservation of temporary previews.
Features may change, be updated or removed at any time. We may remove hosted previews, disable share links or restrict access if we believe the service is being misused, abused, used unlawfully or causing technical or security risk.
7. Intellectual Property
MailMode, including its branding, design and software, remains the property of MailMode.
You retain ownership of the content you upload, paste, fetch or share. You give MailMode the limited permission needed to process that content so the requested feature can work, such as previewing, reporting, URL loading or creating a shareable preview.
8. Limitation of Liability
MailMode is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
We are not liable for:
- rendering inaccuracies
- email client inconsistencies
- lost uploads
- temporary downtime
- indirect or consequential damages
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
9. Privacy
Your use of MailMode is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains temporary file processing, Cloudflare Web Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics and beehiiv newsletter subscriptions.
If you subscribe to the MailMode newsletter, you may receive MailMode updates, release notes, email development tips and announcements about future apps or app releases from the same creator or team. You can unsubscribe using the link included in newsletter emails.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page. Where practical, we may highlight material changes. Continued use of MailMode after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you rights to bring a claim elsewhere.
